Officers from the Westport Police Department received a report of a crash involving two vehicles at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 near the intersection of Green Farms Road and New Creek Road.
One driver - later identified as Angelica Ritter - allegedly took a right turn out of Post Office Lane and rear ended the driver in front of her.
Neither Ritter, nor the other driver suffered any injuries and each vehicle suffered minor damage, police said.
According to police, while speaking with the officers, they detected the smell of alcohol on her breath and she proceeded to fail several Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.
Ritter was taken into custody and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and cited for driving too closely.
Following her arraignment, Ritter was released on $500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on Oct. 22 to answer the charge.
